All families who qualify will receive a voucher that they can use at any child-care provider of their choosing. The voucher also includes a subsidy, which is paid biweekly to the child care provider. The remaining amount must still be paid by the recipient. This program has over 60,000 participants. If you are eligible, get your child immunized per Maryland state guidelines.

There are different eligibility requirements depending on the childcare provider. You can apply for assistance through the Texas Information and Referral Network and Workforce Solutions. Cash assistance can be provided for child care costs that exceed 75% of the average cost. It also includes TANF

The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 replaced Aid to Families with Dependent Children, and other programs with a block grants program known as TANF. Aid to Families with Dependent Children allowed states to receive uncapped federal match funds. The state received more federal money if they were spending more on cash assistance. However, the federal money was reduced when there was a decrease in caseloads. TANF gives states a guaranteed block grant that can be used to finance a variety activities. This program also requires you to spend at most 75 percent of what was available prior welfare reform.

TANF is a block grant program that helps low-income families transition from welfare to work and improve their living conditions. The program was created to replace three federal welfare programs: Aid to Families with Dependent Children AFDC, Job Opportunities and Basic Skills training (JOBS), as well as Emergency Assistance.
