Besterfield–Sacre along with other colleagues conducted a preliminary study of the programs of engineering schools in the United States. The main differences between the programs were the density of their offerings and Carnegie Classification. The study recommends that engineering schools develop entrepreneurship programs in partnership with industry partners. Entrepreneurship programs are a great way to help students come up with new ideas for business.
Innovation Orientation
Innovation orientation is a key characteristic of engineering teams, as it identifies areas in an organization that can benefit from new approaches. Innovation orientation can be influenced by new projects' success, which favors NGDO. Research has shown that this relationship is complex and can be mediated by other variables. The present study investigates the role of new projects in innovation orientation. We provide both a theoretical framework for improvement in innovation orientation within engineering teams.

Entrepreneurship Activities
Different entrepreneurial goals can be pursued by men and women. In this study, we explored the role of different factors in determining entrepreneurial intent in men and women engineering students. We examined whether participation in entrepreneurial activities or attendance at a research institution is a positive indicator of entrepreneurial intent. We also looked at whether students from different socioeconomic backgrounds are more likely be entrepreneurs. These variables had a direct relationship with each other. It was found that students are more likely to have entrepreneurial intentions if they are determined enough.
Gender
Complex relationships exist between gender and entrepreneurship in engineering. It could be due to a low number of women working in STEM fields, a low rate of women graduating from STEM degrees, or any combination of these factors. But, evidence suggests these factors are interrelated. Intention to start your own business is positively correlated with gender, for example. But there are important differences.
